CVU Blue G01 began the tournament with a BIG loss to our team.  One of our players, Amanda’s mom passed away earlier that week.  Our team is so close that it was a hard week for all the families, especially the girls.  The girls decided to play the tournament for Tracey. 

Our players showed up, was determined to win and make the tournament a memoriabke one.  The girls had a 8:00 am game Saturday morning and squared off against some familare faces.  We played  Eagles Black.  The girls went out hard and doninated most of the game. We won 4-3 with Madison Suwara, Alex East , Amanda Davis and Celeste Schreifelsn scoring.  We had good defense by Sydney O’Neil, Ashlynn Hanover and Reese Wallace.  Our goalies also made several good plays; Amanda Davis and Hannah August. 

We then had a big break in the day, where all the girls went to see a movie and have lunch togther.  We came back in the late afternoon to face off against SVU Magic.  We did not have our best game and lost 4-0.  We have decided no more movies for the girls inbetween games, it makes them tired. 

Sunday, we did not play until 1:30 because our team attended the funeral for Tracey.  It was a hard and emotional morning.  However, the girls were ready to go out and fight and win these games.  Even Amanda came to play, she was determined to come play soccer that afternoon.  We wnet out on the field and were pumped up.  We played hard against Eagles Blue, it was a good match. we scored and then they scored.  We then had another opportunity to score when we got a PK shoot.  Mark, had Amanda take it.  She scored and all of us parents just teared up again, knowing that it was for Tracey.  We won the game 2-1.  We made it to the finals.

At 5:00 and with the winds blowing us around the girls were ready to face SVU Magic.  Knowing that we lost to them the day before and our team so pumped up, we were ready for the challenge.  We had a great game and the girls played excellent.  Savannah Ownes played a lot of good offense up top, Madison Fleshman was playing hard in the middle along with Emma Rider.  Our defense with Reese and Sydney was strong.  It was a back a forth game.  We scored, they scored, we scored, they scored.  With about 2 minutes left in the game SVU Magic came down and scored a beautiful goal in the top corner, Madison would have to have been wonder woman to get it. the score was 3-2 at the final  

We came in 2nd but our girls are all champs in our minds.
