It’s their last tournament of the 2009-10 Season and the girls are in a tough Flight with good Silver teams. In their first game against Valley United, the strikers fail to convert many opportunities.  But finally the girls put together a great crossing combination and break the tie. They hold on for a 1-0 victory. Next up a very physical Oxnard wave team. Oxnard opens the scoring with a goal from a PK. But the Red Rockets strike back quickly for two goals and end up winning 2-1. Their final Pool Play game is against a very capable Apex team. In this game, everything falls into place and the team rolls to a 3-0 win. They are in the Finals. Their opponent – the same Oxnard Wave team that they beat in Pool Play. Both teams play strong defensive games. The score ends 0-0 after Regulation. The score remains 0-0 after two overtimesand now the game will be settled by KFTM. After each team takes seven kicks, the game remains tied. Finally on the eighth kick, the Oxnard Wave player’s shot is stopped by the Red Rockets goalie and the Championship is theirs. It is a nail-biting way to end the 2009-10 Season.
