In their first tournament as a new team, CVU Red G95 (aka Red Rockets) was a Finalist in the Girls U14 Santa Cruz Flight at the August 22-23, 2009 Santa Barbara Summer Classic.  The team went undefeated in Pool Play, beating Coastal Valley Blitz (Santa Maria), Tri-Valley Freedom (San Ramon), and North Valley Venom (SFV).  In the exciting seesaw Championship Final, opponent Crescenta Valley tied the game with two minutes to go and then went on to prevail on PKs.  In four tournament matches, the high-powered Red Rockets offense outscored their opponents 13 to 4.  The team is looking forward to the start of the 2009-10 League Season.
