CVU Red G95 (aka Red Rockets) took the Championship in the Girls U14 Blue Flight at the September 5-7, 2009 Simi Valley Labor Day Invitational.  In the closely contested Pool Play, the team went 1-1-1, with a 2-0 win over Bakersfield Gunners, a 0-1 loss to Valley United, and a 2-2 tie with Ventura County Fusion.  The Red Rockets played through to the Elimination Round as the second place finisher in Pool Play.  In the Semifinal game against Real California, neither team could find the back of the net.  The drawn regulation time game went immediately to KFTM where the Red Rockets easily prevailed 3-0.  In the Finals, the team met up again with Ventura County Fusion.  In a very hard fought physical game, the girls won the gold with a 1-0 victory.
